Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Understand fundamental principles of workplace health and safety in construction environments.
• Identify common construction hazards and risks, including electrical, mechanical, chemical, and environmental hazards.
• Apply safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents on construction sites.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and consistently.
• Implement safe work practices for handling tools, machinery, and construction materials.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections to identify potential hazards.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, including fire, chemical spills, and accidents.
• Apply first aid techniques relevant to construction site injuries.
• Understand regulatory standards and legal requirements for workplace safety in Rwanda.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members.
• Reduce workplace accidents and improve overall health and safety performance on construction sites.
