Role Overview
We are seeking
a strategic and execution-focused Managing Director to lead, optimize, and scale core business operations. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in operations, project management, and technology-enabled services.;The ideal candidate brings a startup mindset, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can translate strategic objectives into operational excellence. You will play a critical role in shaping systems, building high-performing teams, and driving sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities are:
- Lead end-to-end operational management of the driver network (recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance optimization)
- Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Establish performance frameworks (KPIs, SLAs, quality benchmarks)
- Oversee daily service delivery to ensure efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Manage and mentor supervisors, dispatch teams, and drivers
- Implement structured training programs
- Foster accountability and continuous improvement
- Work with product and engineering teams to improve app functionality
- Monitor platform performance and fix bottlenecks
- Oversee dispatch systems, GPS tracking, and real-time tools
- Ensure smooth customer onboarding (SMS verification, user flows)
- Build partnerships with hotels, bars, restaurants, and corporate clients
- Design corporate programs (memberships, event services, B2B solutions)
- Support marketing and customer acquisition strategiesManage the full customer journey to ensure satisfaction and retention
- Set up feedback and service recovery systems
- Handle escalated issues professionally
- Continuously improve service standardsManage operational budgets and optimize costs
- Track performance metrics and report to leadership
- Support planning, forecasting, and scaling
- Contribute to investor reporting and fundraising
Qualifications & Experience
Main qualifications are:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Operations, Technology, or related field
- 4–7 years of experience in operations, logistics, mobility, or tech services
- Proven team management experience
- Strong understanding of digital platforms and mobile apps
- Startup or high-growth experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license (mandatory)
- Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda
