PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

A gardener is responsible for maintaining and improving outdoor spaces such as gardens, lawns, parks, and landscaped areas. This includes planting, watering, pruning, and ensuring plants remain healthy and visually appealing.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

• Plant, water, and fertilize flowers, trees, shrubs, and lawns
• Mow grass, trim hedges, and remove weeds
• Prune trees and shrubs to maintain shape and health
• Monitor plant health and treat pests or diseases
• Prepare soil and plant beds for planting
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment
• Clean and maintain outdoor areas (paths, patios, garden features)
• Maintain the wellness of hotel gardens
• Install and maintain irrigation systems (if required)
• Any other duties assigned by competent authorities

Minimum qualifications and experience required

Main qualifications are:

• An advanced level certificate (A2) in agriculture, irrigation or relevant disciple with at least 3 years of working experience as a gardener.
• Basic knowledge of plants, soil, and gardening techniques Ability to use gardening tools (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, shears)
• Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Attention to detail and a passion for plants and landscaping
• Should have a clean disciplinary record of work
• Having worked in high end Hotels will be added advantage.
• Should be ready to start working as soon as possible.
