MLOps - Infrastructure Engineer

Efiche Ltd
Description
About eFiche
eFiche is a Rwanda-based digital health company building AI-enabled clinical tools for nurses and midwives across Rwanda's primary health care system. Our AI outputs — clinical decision support recommendations, risk flags, prescribing guidance, danger sign alerts — must be not only technically functional but clinically accurate, contextually appropriate, and aligned with Rwanda's national clinical guidelines. Validating this, across an expanding portfolio of clinical workflow domains, requires someone who bridges the technical and clinical worlds with equal confidence.;We are looking for a UAT & Clinical Quality Tester to own user acceptance testing at facility level and the clinical quality validation of AI outputs across all our workflow modules.
Purpose of the Role
The MLOps / Infrastructure Engineer owns the
infrastructure of eFiche's AI services layer — from development and staging environments through to production — ensuring the AI platform is reliable, secure, and performant as we expand to national coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities are:
- Design, build, and maintain automated build, testing, and deployment pipelines for eFiche's AI services
- Manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure, including server provisioning, containerisation, and environment management
- Own AI model serving infrastructure — deployment, versioning, latency monitoring, and rollback protocols
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with Rwanda's NCSA cybersecurity standards and the project's data governance framework
- Monitor system uptime, performance, and incident response
- maintain ≥95% uptime SLA
- Support security audits and penetration test remediations
- Ensure the AI services layer remains available and performant when communicating with national health system API endpoints
Required Profile
Main qualifications are:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or MLOps
- Proficiency in containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes or equivalent) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience deploying and serving ML models in production environments
- Familiarity with automated build and deployment tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
- Understanding of data security, encryption, and access control principles
- Experience in low-resource or offline-first deployment contexts is a strong advantage
- Health tech experience is an advantage but not required
