Job responsibilities
Job responsibilities are:
- Assist students and staff in locating, selecting, and effectively using books, periodicals, reference materials, digital resources, and other learning materials.
- Provide guidance on research techniques, information literacy, and responsible use of library resources.
- Deliver basic instruction in library skills, including catalog use, referencing, research methods, and digital literacy.
- Promote appropriate student behavior within the library and ensure adherence to library rules and policies.
- Support the effective and ethical use of educational technology.
- Provide guidance and advice to students on academic research, reading development, and independent learning.
- Support students in identifying resources relevant to their educational goals and future career interests.
- Contribute to oral and written reports or assessments related to students’ academic progress where required.
- Plan and conduct reading promotion programs, literacy campaigns, book clubs, and other educational activities to enhance a reading culture.
- Organize practical learning activities that support curriculum delivery.
- Oversee the selection, acquisition, cataloguing, classification, and organization of library materials and equipment.
- Ensure proper distribution, tracking, and maintenance of books and other resources.
- Maintain an updated inventory of library materials and equipment.
- Ensure the library is organized, safe, and conducive to study and research.
- Monitor borrowing and returning of materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepare periodic reports on library usage, resource needs, and development plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to support curriculum implementation through appropriate resource provision.
- Participate in school meetings and perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor in line with the role.
Qualifications
Main qualifications are:
- A2 in Education, ECE, ECLPE, SRE, Normale Primaire, SME, or Teaching Modern Languages (TML) with 0 Year of relevant experience
