Position Overview

Masaka Farms is seeking a high-capacity Investment Analyst to join our investment team in Kigali. The Investment Analyst will play a critical role in the development of a diversified investment platform, leading new investment opportunities through the full investment lifecycle, as well as supporting our existing portfolio. This role is designed for a talented professional able to balance rigorous investment underwriting with hands-on operational support.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable translating data into clear decision-ready insights. This position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Leadership teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are:

  • Build trusted relationships with founders, family business owners, intermediaries, and advisors within the Rwandan and regional ecosystem to drive proprietary deal flow.
  • Proactively identify investment targets in priority sectors that fit the Thousandfold model:
  • cash-generative, job-creating, and control-oriented platforms.
  • Maintain a transparent, efficient dealflow management framework (e.g., Pipedrive, HubSpot, etc.) to track opportunities, stages, and diligence progress for leadership.
  • Lead preliminary and confirmatory diligence, coordinating commercial, financial, and operational assessments to validate investment theses.
  • Synthesize diligence findings into clear, decision-ready investment recommendations for Thousandfold leadership.
  • Support valuation analysis, deal structuring, and investment negotiation in alignment with Thousandfold’s permanent-capital philosophy.
  • Advance transactions toward LOI and definitive agreement, subject to investment committee approval.
  • Collaborate with portfolio leadership to design and implement long-term growth strategies, financial modeling, and operational improvements.
  • Develop high-impact investment materials and robust financial models to support Group-level capital raises and investor relations.
  • Support the development of investment structures and post-investment planning and execution to ensure seamless integration.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in financial analysis, consulting, investment, or high-growth business environments.
  • Clear alignment with Masaka farms mission, vision, and values.
  • Experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or a high-growth role with meaningful transaction exposure.
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities and fluency with business models, cash flow dynamics, and valuation frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of the business and investment environment in Rwanda and the region.
